“fill in
the questionnaire”
WAGGGS
is on the road to rio+20 via the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference COP17 in
Durban. To ensure the voice of girls and young women is heard in the
negotiations on climate change and sustainable development, we launched the ‘we
can save our planet’ campaign. ‘We can save our planet’ pulls together
community action on the ground, delivering our demands to decision-makers at
all levels, global youth consultations to inform the youth delegations at both
UN events and worldwide mobilization for awareness raising on environmental
sustainability.
The
first round of consultation (pre-COP17) has been launched on www.surveymonkey.com/s/wecansaveourplanetI would like to ask you to fill in the questionnaire
(it takes only 8½ minutes) and disseminate it widely through your networks. The
survey is in three languages – English, French and Spanish – and aimed at girls
and boys, women and men of all ages around the world. The deadline is 31
October 2011.
Aside
from the questionnaire the ‘we can save our planet’ campaign tools also
include:
· The non-formal educational action booklet
· A set of demands that our members deliver to
decision-makers at all levels
· Our
campaign website www.worldthinkingday.org with an action counter – we want to reach 201.200 actions
worldwide
by the end of rio+20 (launched in the coming days)
· Case
studies and best practise on community action to inspire others
· A
second consultation at the beginning of 2012 that is aimed specifically at
children
· Online
and offline outreach tools for joint awareness raising on special action days
It
would be great to hear your thoughts about the campaign and explore potential
ways of further cooperation.
